This piece, part of my 'Blood is the Life' series. explores the relationship between romance and death, examining how attraction and mortality can become closely intertwined.

This painting was created  in support of women and the dangers they face everyday just existing. The figure appears to me to be looking under the bed, something a lot of us did as children to check for monsters or the boogeyman. The reality for many women however is that the monsters are everywhere and the dangers are very real.
