The piece, part of my 'Blood is the Life' series. explores the relationship between romance and death, examining how attraction and mortality can become closely intertwined.

My idea for this painting is that it would depict giving into a love that inevitably wouldn't last. I wanted a feeling of giving into a moment, being seduced by something all consuming and powerful but in the end, doomed. There is a sense of visceral passion, almost a dream-like love.
